Hey, so about the launch: I went through the whole doc this morning and I think we're mostly there, but there are a couple of things that still worry me. The pricing page copy is still using the old positioning from January, which doesn't match what we agreed in the last review, and nobody has re-checked the onboarding emails since we changed the trial length. Also the analytics events on the signup form were never renamed after the refactor, so if we ship on Thursday we'll be flying blind on conversion for at least a week. I'd rather we push to Monday and fix those three things than launch and spend the following two weeks apologising to people.

Straight answers
How is this different from copying text into ChatGPT?
Distance. Copying into a browser tab is roughly eight actions: switch app, open tab, paste, type an instruction, wait, select the answer, copy, switch back, paste. This is two: select, press the shortcut. It sounds like a small difference until you do it fifteen times a day. That is the difference between a tool you use and a tool you keep meaning to use.
Doesn't macOS already do this with Apple Writing Tools?
For proofreading inside Mail and Notes on an Apple Silicon Mac, honestly, it does, and it's free. It stops working the moment you leave that ground: Slack, WhatsApp, Discord and VS Code are all unsupported because they don't expose the macOS text menu, there is no translate action at all, it covers 16 languages, it excludes every Intel Mac, and you cannot save an instruction of your own. Those are the gaps this fills. If you only ever write in Apple Mail, use Apple's. We would rather you didn't pay us for something you already have.
Which apps does it work in?
Any app where you can select text: Mail, Gmail and Outlook in the browser, WhatsApp, Slack, Notion, Notes, Pages, Word, Figma, your code editor, a PDF viewer. It works at the system level, so there is no per-app integration to wait for.
What happens to my text?
Only the passage you selected is sent, only when you trigger an action, and only to run that action. Nothing is stored on our side after the result comes back, and nothing you write is used to train models. The full policy will be published before the first build ships.
When does it ship, and what does the waitlist get me?
The Mac build is in development and goes to the waitlist first, in batches. Waitlist members get early access, the early-bird lifetime price, and a direct line to shape which actions get built. No card, no commitment at signup.
Why does the lifetime deal have a monthly allowance?
Because every action costs us something to run, and a lifetime plan with unlimited usage is a promise that quietly breaks a year later. 2,000 actions a month is far more than heavy daily use, roughly one every four minutes of a working day. If you do exceed it, plugging in your own API key makes it unlimited at no extra cost to you.
Is Windows coming?
Yes, after the Mac version is stable. Waitlist signups are counted by platform, so choosing Windows genuinely moves it up the queue.
